The exciting news....

...there  is none. Well, kinda.

Was planning to go to Barcelona with Heli, but it was becoming too expensive since I was too late to book it all. Plane tickets + hostel + food and other expenses = 1000€ at least! Well dad then said that I could go another time with friends, so maybe something will happen in the autumn or next year, after graduating.
Right now we're planning a family holiday to Italy~~  Excited about that!! Just need to find my cameras charger. It's been a couple weeks since I've been looking for it.
So instead of going abroad with a friend I'm gonna be going to Mikkeli to meet Kikka. I was already planning to go there, nothing changed with that plan :P

I'm watching Ted now... dunno why. Still funny though xD Maybe finish Broadchurch then go to sleep. Thank God for Tumblr to keep me company.

Juhannus!! and other stuff

This weekend we celebrated the longest day of the year aka mid-summer aka Juhannus. On Friday I had a girls night with my two other closest friends Emmi and Hanna <3 we decided to do a "Sex and the City" themed party so had to dress up for it.

One week ago Emmi asked me to help her choose a dress for the party and of course I would! We went to all the shops, but they didn't have those kind of dresses anymore! The last shop we went to was H&M and Emmi did find a dress so she went to try it on, while I was looking for another size for a top we noticed earlier. When going towards the fitting room I noticed on the sale rack a awesome looking lace LBD. I did fall in love with it and looked for Emmis size. They had it!! Quickly rushed to Emmi and gave it to her. She then decided to buy that and the one she chose, but didn't know yet which one to wear for the party. I, of course, said that the lace one is perfect for it. The  on this Friday, before I could even ask which one she chose, she told me that she took the lace one with her cause her boyfriend also liked it :D happy me was happy~ 

I took, with me, a dress mom had bought from India for me. It's kinda 60's style, but good for our theme. Hanna wore a black dress also. 

We decided we'll all bring something to eat and I made a cheesecake for the first time. You'd think that since I love cheesecake I'd have made it many times already, but no. I had tried a few times, but something always went wrong until I found this very simple recipe. It came out perfect! Everybody loved it! we had guests at home so left them a big piece and they all loved it also. :)

Before eating we went for sauna. Very traditional for juhannus! Though people usually celebrate it at their summer cottage, have BBQ and sauna all day. At least we got to have sauna :D 

So after eating we got ready to party~ We got ready I  time so left to have a drink at a terrace bar cause the sun came out. But when we got to the city noticed that almost all of them were closed!! Except for one. Anyways, we had 30min to pass until the proper place opened.

We'll then we danced all night~ Met a group of guys and they weren't from Salo! Who the hell comes to Salo to party xD the guy from Tampere had family or something in Pertteli so came here for Juhannus.
We left after 3am and the sun was already rising! Welcome to Finland~

Next day, when Juhannus is actually celebrated, Markus called me to invite me to Annika's place. First I said no, cause I was tired, but kinda wanted to spend time with them so went after all. Akira was singing karakoe when I arrived and I said immediately I ain't singing today cause I had no voice left xD later in the evening I ended up singing Hurricane by 30 Seconds to Mars <3 We played a couple of board games, Isäntä vs. Emätntä and a Mr. Bean game. I left around 23 made me an epic chicken grilled sandwich, watched Frozen and went to sleep

Today dad still wanted to go watch Edge of Tomorrow so we went to Turku to watch it. It was ok. Better then Oblivion!! xD The end was dumb, dunno why they left it like that. Of course they'll get together! 

After coming home I finished watching Orphan Black. I started watching it last week cause I wanted to know what all the fuss is about. Well, it is awesome! That Helena is all sorts of problems!! And Tatiana Maslany deserve so much recognition!! I mean, she plays min. 4 characters each episode then comes two more. And all of them so different! I'd go crazy having to act so many different personalities. Good finale! Didn't have a annoying cliffhanger like Castle and Bones.

Särkäniemi and Mummy's bday :)

So on Monday we visited Särkäniemi. It's the biggest amusement park in Finland, located in Tampere. Somewhat 160km north of Salo. There's a another amusement park in Linnanmäki, but it is a bit smaller. Plus Särkäniemi has dolphins!! And for a few years now, Angry Bird Land.

We left home around 9.30, but were on our way by 10. Closer to Tampere I took a short break, but we reached just before 12.30. So first we had lunch in the parking lot then up to buy tickets. Got the wrist band for my cousin and her older daughter, me and her husband just wanted to see the dolphins so bought the ticket for that :D The next show was at 15, so we had time to look around and even the kids got to ride a couple rides.
The dolpin show was pretty good, but the one two years ago was much better. By the time it ended I was desperate for a nap, so we agreed on a time to meet my cousin and to the car I went! Bad idea!!! The car was so HOT!! Didn't want to waste the cars battery by turning on the AC so just gave up. Spent the rest of the day by taking care of the little one while her mom and sister go on rides. My cousin rode the almost all of the rides and I bought a ticket to ride one with her :)
We left Särkäniemi around 19 and ate at Hesburger. Long time since I'd eaten there :D When we reached home, i went straight to bed.

Wednesday was moms 50th birthday. Me and Vip made her a collage from old pics and some newer ones. We found some of her childhood and collage pics and went through our Australia albulms and chose a few from there. In the end we had about 14 pics to copy. At the shop I decided to take a few away cause getting them copied was so expensive. To fill in the gaps I took some pics from the computer and scaled them down a bit. On Sunday (before Särkäniemi) me and Vip quickly made it while everyone was sleeping, but mom still managed to come in the room when I was finishing it up. I don't think she saw anything then. I told Vip to go buy the frame for it before Wednesday and he did. Dad had ordered iPad for mummy, but it hadn't arrived till Tuesday so we were panicking about it a bit. But thankfully it did arrive on Wednesday :D
For the cake I made a simple strawberry-cream cake and Dhriti helped me make it :) after lunch we were after mummy to change her clothes so we could start the celebrations properly. Took her long enough, but by the time she was getting ready we packed last of the gifts. We'd given the collage (card) at midnight, so that was done. Mom had bought herself a shirt so we packed that in my iPad Mini box to troll her and stacked the gifts so, that she'd oped that one first. After the cake we made her open them and she even said that she didn't expect us to get her an iPad when opening the fake packet. But the we made her open the last one and was totally surprised :D After having cake the sun was shining so we went outside to take pics.

For dinner mummy made Shai Paneer, papa made his Varanasi style Matar Aloo and didi made mine and Vips favorite Butter Chciken! The best home-made butter chicken I've had in a long time <3

That night I couldn't sleep. I got restless legs, so whenever I fell asleep my legs decided to start kicking on it's own. Got so frustrated -.-'
So I got up when I heard others were awake and went out. I think by 11 I went back to sleep and finally slept~ Thankfully I woke a couple hours before my cousin would be leaving for the airport, so got to say bye to them :)

On Friday I met Emmi after a long time. She asked me to help her buy a dress for our themed girls night next Friday (/Mid-Summer party). The theme is Sex and the City :P Only a couple weeks ago there were many nice party dresses and now it was so hard to find something decent. Our last stop was H&M. She found something and went to try it, while I stayed behind to look for a top I'd seen earlier. By chance when going towards the fitting room I glanced at the sale rack and found the perfect dress for her!! So happy she decided to buy it!! Now just hoping she'll wear it on Friday :D I already know what I'm gonna wear :)
Tried to get Heli to come to Salo for mid-summer, but she decided to stay with family. Well maybe we'll see each other another time this year.

Helsinki <3

Yesterday we visited Helsinki with my cousin. We left some time after 11 and reached just as the Samba festival was starting. We went for the festival so glad we made it on time. The festival was starting from Senates square (Senaattitori) and the steps was already full of people. I  it iced a lot of Indians this time. Either I haven't noticed this many before or they have suddenly increased xD

I got a pretty good spot at the starting point, right in front. When we'd gotten to the square I took out my camera only to find out that it was out of battery. Thank God for my iPad!! Took loads of videos and pics, but had to delete most of it cause of low memory space :/ but here's a few

The festival was good. Different samba groups came from all over Finland. I noticed at least one from Tampere and Viapori, dunno about others. The kid groups were so cute!! Ain't able to upload vids from my iPad, for some reason.

Since we'd parked at Kaivopuisto we walked back there. It was a nice day for a picnic and good thing we had our own food with us. Except while everyone else was eating I fell asleep in the car. Parents woke me telling they're going to Ursula cafe near by, right in front of the sea. Nothing was left for me to eat cause everyone was so hungry, so dad said I could get something to eat from the cafe. But they only had food with fish.. sooooo no. We took a few pics by the sea, but I'd been in a bad mood all day so didn't really wanna join in.

Dad then droppe dme off at the Esplanade and I went in to eat at Samrat, a Indian restaurant. I'd eaten there many years ago and remember that the naan wasn't so good. But this time it was really good. I ordered butter chicken ( my go-to food, which I love so much) and absolutely no rice! Only naan.  Along with plain naan I ordered a garlic naan, and it really good also. I liked the chicken quite a lot also, even though it was just a bit boring. Spiciness was perfect for me, but maybe a bit too spicy for Finns. Since I'd gone alone I was finished pretty quickly. It was a bit too costly, so not for students! 
Joined dad at Kaappeli café at the other end of Esplanade, but the others hadn't arrived yet so just went in and waited. Until the others joined us we checked if Fazer café would be open and it was, so we walked there. It'd been pretty long since I'd been there also, so had to buy something. I ordered a cheesecake and, of course,  hot chocolate. The cake was perfection~ Not too sweet and the base wasn't so buiscuit-y. So Fazer is Finlands top chocolate brand. Started in 1891 by Karl Fazer, it's one of my fave chocolates yet! Next to Lindt.

I was already so full, that could't even finish the cake, so mom ate half of it. It was still so good.
After eating me and mom immediatly left for home. I thought I would be able to drive home, but couldn't. Somehow I manged to drive till Lohja and then gave the wheel to mom. I fell asleep right away and then also at home. Weird. For me it is.

Well, night night, we're off to Tampere tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get to see Oona. Miss her so, also could congratualte her on graduating :)


How am I not asleep yet?!

It's 1am!! And I'm damn sleepy! ...yet, I ain't in bed... But I am going to finish watching Supernatural! Only 3 more episodes to go!!

I'd stopped watching it some where in season 7, then I just started it again last summer during my au pair time. Took a small break and continued from season 5 then skipped to season 7... Cause why not?! Gotta say, season 7 was a lot better. Not so biblical. Then I decided to skip 8th season after watching a few first episodes and now almost up to date :D

The best episode yet has to be the one Dean and Sam got thrown into the "real" world to play their actual self. And Castiel being human and all... Nothing is more adorable!!! Your argument is invalid!!

So in the past week my work practice has ended and summer holidays unofficially has started. Wednesday my friend asked me to join her to the foam party and since I've always loved them, I agreed pretty fast. BUT it was so empty T_T then she didn't even come dance with me... I wanna go out and just dance, some day soon. I miss dancing. Just partying hard and forgetting all my worries.

Cousin came back from Paris on Friday and went to pick them up from the airport. Obviously had to visit Starbucks, and was so happy when I saw they got the Mocca Cookie Crumble frappaccino!!!! Had to buy the venti! It's been a year since I'd had it.

Saturday was graduation day and we had a party to go to. I wore my almost-graduation-dress, cause pretty~ Party was nice, good food, good company and got to see the graduate after a long time :D Ended up forgetting her other gift, but told her to come by to get it after their trip.

On Monday I had a lecture, I went, I concurred. Well, not really, but teacher let me go early then came home showered, rested and off we went to Teijo! Aaaand I forgot my camera... Was kinda in a hurry. Also it got pretty cloudy by the time we got there, so mmeh.
We barbecued and went boating with my cousin and bro. The damn weather kinda ruined the day.

Tuesday went by at home, prepping for  Wednesday cruise. What did we prep for u ask?! Well, let me tell you. We took one big suitcase full of food! The other suitcase was just a cabin size ones. So, we went all Indian and saved money from buying food every few hours :D
We left early morning from Turku harbor and arrived the next day. First thing we did is have breakfast, since we just left home pretty fast. Then, SLEEP~~  And I did sleep a couple hours even though had two cups of coffee. After everyone got up we had lunch and freshened up, we went up on the deck. Even got Vipul to join us and took quite a lot of pics. Then I was getting cold so me and Vipul went to see whats where, since we hadn't been on Viking Line for a looong time.

We passed the time with playing cards and browsing the tax free shop. Kids were having fun in the playroom. We had dinner at one of the buffets and it was pretty good. Dunno why the cider was so freaking expensive... Then we had to get the kids to sleep so that us adults can visit the nightclub. It was after midnight that we finally went and it was pretty empty :D Probably cause it was a weekday. The band was good though. Parents played a bit of roulette and kinda lost.. ohwell...

     

Today we all slept a few hours after coming home. Visited Salo center cause it was market day. I kinda like the every Thursday market, especially when it's sunny. Might bump into someone who I haven't seen in a long time :D

So this has been my week and this weekend just gonna rest and meet friends, maybe go swimming. Let's see! Now watching Sherlock's extra. L O V E this show <3 can't wait to have the Sherlock marathon with Julle~
